In the last two decades, an expanded interest in application of extraction with supercritical fluids evolved. In this work, we examined microbiological activity of extracts obtained by extraction with CO2, under high pressure.
The extraction was carried out under following conditions: extract 1 (p=100 bar, t=40°C, t=2 h) and extract 2 (p=300 bar, t=40°C, t=2 h). For examination of antimicrobial activity, 10 microorganisms were used: Bacillus subtilis S, Escherichia coli 95, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphyllococcus aureus ATCC 6538, Sarcina lutea 9341, Salmonella enteritidis, Aspergilus niger, Candida albicans ATCC 24493 and Sacharomyces cerevisiae ATCC 9763 diffuse method according to Ph. Jug. IV was applied. On the basis of the obtained results, it was established that the extract 2 showed more outstanding antimicrobial effect.
