Trials regarding harvest time (three harvest; a degree of head maturity was the parameter) of flower heads of four camomile varieties were carried out in l998. and 1999.
The factorial analysis of variance shows that harvest time highly significantly affected grain yield and physical parameters of seed quality (germination energy, germination, l000- seed weight) in all four varieties. Reliably highest seed yield was obtained in the second, and then in the first harvest. Furthermore, the highest values of physical parameters of seed quality were also detected in the second and then in the third harvest. Based on obtained results it can be concluded that the influence of the second harvest on yield and quality of camomile seed was the most favourable.
